After leaving the Dive College we picked up our tanks at Scuba Quatic head office. Arriving at the Macao Cave there are about 50 buggies and twice as many people hanging around and jumping into the water at the entrance of the cave. We decide to wait a little before getting geared up. After a thorough briefing by Ferry and a first look at the entrance of the cave we put on our diving gear.

Walking down the slippery stone stairs is the first obstacle but one we were glad to take. The water is cold!! But no matter, we are going CAVE DIVING!! For 4 of us it is the first time in the Macao Cave and we are psyched!

The water is perfectly clear and it feels like you are floating. With our torches we inspect all crooks and crannies, and the cave caverns runs deep! Although the cave is relatively straight forward we continue to signal OK to eachother making sure everyone is having a fun and safe dive.
We are told that the people jumping in the water by the entrance often loose things so we go searching for ‘treasures’. Ferry finds Oakley sunglasses and Lorenzo finds a 20-dollar bill! A pretty good score!

More importantly we have had a fantastic cave dive, with several small crabs and one huge one. Next time we go, we are going to bring bags to clean up the bottles and plastic cups that people have thrown into the water for our part in Project AWARE.
The Macao Cave is a recommendation for all of you coming to dive at the Dive College.
